Sanjay Bakshi’s Experience

  • CEO

    Tactica Capital Management Private Limited

(Privately Held; 1-10 employees; Investment Management industry)

    January 2002Present (6 years 5 months)

I lead a professional team of analysts created by me which identifies and exploits significant inefficiencies in the Indian stock market using the Graham & Dodd approach to deep value investing.

Over the last 15 years, I have earned excess market returns of more than 40% p.a. by taking very low levels of risk by buying deeply out-of-favour stocks at prices which were a fraction of their underlying value and then often working towards closing the value-price gap using a pro-active approach involving engagement with the managements of target companies.

I enjoy an excellent reputation, both as a successful practitioner of the Ben Graham investment style in India, and also as a much-admired professor of finance at Management Development Institute, which is one of India’s top business schools.

I also specialize in opportunities arising out of announced or anticipated corporate events like mergers, takeovers, spin-offs, special dividends, bankruptcies etc.

  • Visiting Professor

    Management Development Institute, Gurgaon

(Educational Institution; 201-500 employees; Higher Education industry)

As Visiting Professor at MDI, I have had the privilege of teaching 2nd-year MBA students, a popular course titled "Behavioural Finance & Business Valuation." You can find out more about my course from http://tinyurl.com/2fcqhz.
