I have built a team of analysts, all of whom are MBAs, and all of whom have been my ex-students, and who have been trained by me in security analysis. We work hard towards finding value by screening and analysing a universe of more tham 6,000 Indian stocks having a combined market cap of about $1 trillion.

I lead a professional team of analysts created by me which identifies and exploits significant inefficiencies in the Indian stock market using the Graham & Dodd approach to deep value investing.
Over the last 15 years, I have earned excess market returns of more than 40% p.a. by taking very low levels of risk by buying deeply out-of-favour stocks at prices which were a fraction of their underlying value and then often working towards closing the value-price gap using a pro-active approach involving engagement with the managements of target companies.
I enjoy an excellent reputation, both as a successful practitioner of the Ben Graham investment style in India, and also as a much-admired professor of finance at Management Development Institute, which is one of India’s top business schools.
I also specialize in opportunities arising out of announced or anticipated corporate events like mergers, takeovers, spin-offs, special dividends, bankruptcies etc.

While studying at LSE, I got an opportunity to carry out research for Edward Elgar Publishing. This job gave me access to all the important libraries in London, which opened up a whole new world for me. I could now spend time reading about the great investors like Warren Buffett and Benjamin Graham. I took my time doing this, and eventually decided to come back to India and start an Investment partnership on the lines of Buffett Partnership.
