London, United Kingdom
Richard has been a London-based freelance photographer since leaving the renowned Documentary Photography course at Gwent College of Art, Newport in 1986. Since then he has worked on reportage projects for magazines, corporate image collections and on various high-profile book projects.
In 2004, he photographed and wrote 'Red Arrows', a book of documentary and landscape about the Royal Air Force's aerobatic team during their 40th anniversary year.
In 2009, his documentary photography was published in a collaborative book with the writer Alain de Botton called 'The Pleasures and Sorrows of Work' (Hamish Hamilton, 2009).
The most recent event is his photography appearing throughout 'A Week at the Airport: A Heathrow Diary', also with de Botton, which was published by Profile Books at the end of September 09.
Richard is also exhibiting some photography in September at The Institute of Mechanical of Engineers in London with the continuing participation of 'Werk Nu' (Work Now), a show at the Z33 gallery in Hasselt, Belgium.
His archive is represented at Corbis and Alamy and on sale directly by searchable e-commerce at Photoshelter.
