President, Washington Aviation Group: Supporting the Aviation Industry's Legal Needs
Washington D.C. Metro Area
I have been involved in aviation law since 1992. I chaired the FAA-Industry Suspected Unapproved Parts Task Group. I am a member of the FAA's Aviation Rulemaking Advisory Committee.
I am admitted to the bars of New York, Virginia, and Washington, DC as well as relevant Federal Courts (and I am frequently admitted 'pro hac vice' in cases outside my geographic area).
Recent sample work includes (NOTE: these cases are offered as samples of our past work; results of these cases are not meant to reflect a prediction of results in future cases):
...(1) successful summary judgment in defense of a repair station accused by Bell Helicopter of intellectual property violations;
...(2) a criminal case in which we handled the aviation-related charges and all of those charges were dropped;
...(3) the successful postponement of implementation of repair station regulations until appropriate guidance could be published (we also influenced the final language of the guidance through an informal comment process);
...(4) the successful dismissal of an FAA enforcement action accusing an air carrier of Part 121 violations;
...(5) the successful dismissal of an FAA enforcement action on a major-minor issue and successful EAJA follow-on action;
...(6) several successful lobbying efforts obtaining policy changes reflecting the manner in which FAA 8130-3 tags are issued.
Our firm represent manufacturers, repair stations, air carriers and distributors. We provide training (aviation regulatory compliance and hazmat training under both DOT and IATA rules). We perform aviation industry consulting. We help companies to resolve a variety of legal disputes.
We also represent several aviation industry trade associations as general counsel, including the Aviation Suppliers Association (ASA), Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA), Airline Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA), and Modification and Replacement Parts Association (MARPA).
We focus on Administrative, Antitrust, Aviation, Corporate, Haz Mat, Intellectual Property, and Trade Association Law. We listen to you, the client, and we partner with you to find the best solutions for your business needs: whether it means writing the right contract to reflect your new business relationship, negotiating a favorable settlement to a dispute, vindicating your rights through litigation, or changing the letter of the law itself through regulatory, legislative or policy lobbying.
