PIM is a European project under the 6th framework programme carried out by a multinational consortium. It aims to promote innovation within East European countries by delivering a knowledge management and communication platform tailored to the process innovation domain.
Being in charge of GFI’s contribution to the project, I participated in the overall specification and design of the platform, which features a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). I'm also responsible for the architecture and (together with a co-worker) for the implementation of one of the platform's components.

As a member of a team of 15 persons, I worked on the development of a workflow driven accident management platform. I participated in the development of the user interface, the XML message exchange with external partners, the design of workflow processes and the integration of the platform with MQ Workflow. I created a set of tools to identify and debug workflow related problems and improved the architecture to support distributed transactions between the workflow and the database.

As a software engineer I successfully designed, implemented and deployed a tailor-made CRM system for ThyssenKrupp Materials Belgium. I also participated in the development of a release management system at Dexia bank as well as various other projects based on Java and PHP.
As a network engineer I worked with different local administrations and private companies to deploy Linux based network infrastructures (centralized user management using LDAP, mail servers and gateways, Web servers and proxies, content filters, firewalls, migration of Windows based networks).
As an IT trainer, I designed and delivered training courses on topics such as Linux, networking and security, Java, XML, Servlets & JSP and PHP/MySQL.
