Sr MSSQL DBA / Entrepreneur

Professionally I have made mastering all the ins and outs of the behemoth that is SQL Server my primary career niche. English is a second language right after T-SQL and I tend to think in 3rd normal form. :P
I also enjoy programming and seeing applications through to fruition. My career started with VB,COM, and classic ASP and I have upgraded my skill set over the past year or so to include C# and ASP.NET. I'm also no stranger to PHP/mySQL development. A case statement is a switch statement is a case statement I always say.
I love startups and keeping up with all the web 2.0 fever. I'm entrepreneurial by nature and enjoy the pace and passion of young business.
If you know me or if you think you know me... there are lots of James Bond's out there mind you, I'd love to get back in touch.
In any event, feel free... avantbond@gxxxx.com -- replace x's with mail. :)

Full time employee of the Studio IT division of Disney. Performing all the duties of a Sr. SQL Server DBA and SQL programmer for the length of my tenure as the lone database pro. The project is a highly customizable and diverse proprietary web-based media asset management application (MAM system). I came on board during its infancy. It now acts both as an internal asset/project management tool and a b2b digital asset delivery engine. New database development and performance enhancement were my primary focus. While there we supported an active user base of 35,000 users.

Hired as Sr. Web Developer, although somewhat of a misnomer for the job done. Joined a team of 5 developers as a co-lead. We were tasked with upgrading and maintaining an in-house developed web-based annuity sales application. Affectionately billed as "SmartApp", the solution was built on ASP, COM, and SQL Server.
My greatest responsibilities included SQL Server Admin/development (Stored Procs, triggers, new tables, maintenance, reports, etc.) and some ASP/COM development of new functionality. I also was instrumental in a several months long hardening effort designed to improve the scalability and stability of the product to keep track of new lines of business coming online.
There were also shared database admin responsibilities as well as a great deal of client management and interaction.

The main project at hand was delivery of a customized eCommerce solution developed from scratch to meet Opuswave's unique business requirements as a subsidiary of Siemens. The solution required a complicated data structure, intelligent hierarchical authentication tool, and B2B integration with a SAP system in Austin using custom and available COM components and XML.
Opuswave was building a corporate VOIP network telecommunications solution.
This project demanded real-time exchange and display of data between the Opuswave web-based eCommerce piece and the SAP system with intelligent synchronization, error handling, and reporting.
Consulted via Siemens Business Services. Opuswave was dropped by Siemens and was not able to acquire a buyer before burn out.
