Venture Café (temporary code name) slated to open in the heart of Kendall Sq, Cambridge, MA. The Café presents a novel concept combining a nurturing environment for entrepreneurs with networking opportunities among one another and local and visiting venture capitalists. It is our hope that the Café contributes to the local community by becoming a central hang out space for the Kendall Sq community, and offering expansive space for local networking and educational events.

This class, "History and Aesthetics of New Media," begins with a discussion of the history and development of computational technologies, and the origins of the World Wide Web. From there, students progress to discussing current trends in technology, including convergence culture, social media, and collaborative technologies.
Technology's cultural impact and inherent ethical issues are tackled every class, and represent a unifying theme throughout the course.
The final project is very closely related to each student's particular field of study in mass media at Emerson College. Often students enter the class thinking the only digital distribution platforms available are YouTube and flickr. Nothing could be further from the truth! Students research and present on genre-specific portfolio sites. Recent presentations included sites such as Vimeo.com (long format, high quality video), 5min.com (short tutorials), and ExposureRoom.com (photography).

The Summer Jobs Campaign works to partner with businesses to provide summer jobs for Cambridge teens.
My responsibilities include:
Developing and updating the Campaign strategy
Refining the creative direction Campaign materials
Drafting language and copy for use on promotional pieces
Coordinating with graphic designers and printers
Following through to make sure all marketing goals for the Campaign are being met.
This position puts me in regular contact with:
Multiple departments within the City of Cambridge
Cambridge Housing Authority
Just-a-Start's TeenWork Program
Cambridge Chamber of Commerce.
My long-standing involvement with OWD has provided me with wonderful insights about the dedicated companies who call Cambridge their home. Cambridge companies make a concerted effort to find way of contributing to their community, including by participating in the Summer Jobs Campaign.
As a property owner and resident of Cambridge, I have said many times I'm the proudest tax-payer in the City. The City of Cambridge offers an amazing range of services to the community. Just one example: The Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program annually employs 800 teens(!) every summer to work in government offices and local non-profit agencies.
