Ashley Woods was born in Aldershot, UK in April 1967 and grew up in Far East Asia (Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore).
Having worked for such international brand names as Magnum Photos (Paris), Lookat (Zurich), VII (Paris) and Tien Wah Press (Malaysia), Ashley has earned himself a reputation managing and promoting artists and photographers; negotiating copyright, coordinating image and print production and organizing major media events internationally. He has excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills and speaks English, French and German.
He recently founded REAL Exhibition Development, a non-profit organization who work with civil society, international networks and charities in communicating to the general public and the media on major critical issues of our time, through photography, film and new media.
In 2008 he co-produced an educational film and photographic exhibition with the International Red Cross Museum, Geneva entitled 'In-Security: The Nuclear Dilemma' (nucleardilemma.org). The exhibition has been endorsed by the International Peace Bureau (www.ipb.org), Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility (www.inesglobal.com) and Mayors for Peace (mayorsforpeace.org). Ashley worked with Dr.Kathleen Sullivan United Nations disarmament educator, and Shigeko Sasamori, a survivor of Hiroshima on a concise educational programme including workshops. Stats: 30'000 actual visitors in 2008; overall outreach (via the media) of over 3 million people.
Ashley Woods is also an ongoing media consultant to the International Peace Bureau, a Nobel Peace laureate INGO and is responsible for their upcoming advertising campaign "Disarmament for Development' (2010-2011).
He is also working on a number of other projects including ONE VISION due to be presented at the United Nations, NEW York in May 2010 and MAKING PEACE, to be shown along Lake Geneva in June 2010.
