I am currently a Graduate Assistant at Florida Atlantic University in the Graduate College. I work in the Degree Completion Department and assist the manager with degree certification. I process plan of study forms for Master's, Specialist and Doctoral students to ensure that they have met the requirements of their degree and of the University. I manage the email and phone support for this department. I also assist with Thesis and Dissertation format reviews.
I am also currently working with Lee Hecht Harrison's Global Project Serviced department. I track client activity for a major account, to ensure all activity is being billed. I previously worked at Lee Hecht Harrison in Tampa, FL for six years. I began as the Client Services Coordinator (Front Office) and worked my way up to Project Coordinator for the Tampa office.
I began my Masters in Social Work at FAU in Fall 2008. I would like to work with the refugee and / or homeless population, adoption and foster care, or education and health promotion among children / teens. Honestly, I would enjoy anything involving assisting people to become the best they can be.
I am a human rights activist. I was the President of STAND @ USF (http://ctr.usf.edu/stand), a chapter of the national STAND organization. We are a complete student-run anti-genocide coalition. In my two years as President, I gained valuable leadership skills, as well as found where my passion in life lies.
