Head of Brand at INQ Mobile (a Hutchison Whampoa Company)
London, United Kingdom
Over the last six years I've played a first mover role in driving the shape of the mobile internet and the 3G mobile market.
From defining the usability and design guidelines behind the launch of the first-ever 3G portal to the marketing strategy and positioning of the Skypephone (Highly commended in the Best Mobile Handset category - 3GMS 2008), via the launch and partner management of the X-Series mobile broadband proposition, and the ongoing scouting and evaluation of innovative technologies and services mapped to business needs and user trends.
As part of the founder team, my current work has centred around the launch of INQ Mobile: a new 100% owned Hutchison Whampoa company dedicated to extending internet communications into everyday life and making them mobile on easy to use, democratically-priced devices.
Longer term, I've over 15 years professional experience at the intersection between technology, business, media, innovation and user-centric design.
I speak at industry conferences; have acted as visiting professor at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea (Italy) and the Royal College of Art (UK); have written for a variety of publications.
Recent speaking engagements:
"The Social Life of Mobile", Mobile Focus, Stockholm, November 2008
"Mobile and the Internet Mutation", Frontiers of Interaction, Turin, July 2008.
“The Future of Social Networks”, Mobile Youth Conference, London May 2008.
“X-series: bringing the big internet to the small screen through collaboration and customization”, Informa Mobile Usability and Application Design, London December 2007.
