The company's main business is providing outsourced physician staffing and administrative services to more than 550 hospital emergency departments and affiliated clinics in 46 states. March 2004 — April 2009 (5 years 2 months)
Ashco Group served as the holding and consulting company for Ash Huzenlaub. The firm teamed with entrepreneurs, investment partnerships, corporate BOD’s, and/or restructuring groups that required additional experience in operating private, or public-to-private companies (turnaround initiatives); interim management; business plan & market development; sales leadership; and marketing / branding leadership that require a "roll up your sleeves" work ethic.
Ashco Group was previously a minority shareholder of EDIS company, Emergisoft, where Huzenlaub was implemented by private equity shareholders as turnaround Chairman & CEO (2002 - 2006); and concept development for Mexus. Between Q4 of 2005 and Q2 2009, Ashco Group was contracted to assist industry leaders in service awards (marketing and promotion at Diamond H); University Entrepreneurship Programs (TCU); and exclusively for the past two years, food & beverage division launch, growth, and expansion at Sweet Leaf Tea Co. (now part of Nestle).

May 2002 — November 2005 (3 years 7 months)
Implemented as turnaround CEO of this public company by primary shareholder (Berlwood) in May 2002 and served in this role until Nov 15, 2005. Served as a leadership transition consultant through Jan 30, 2006. We took the company private, rebuilt the organization and successfully launched two new Emergency Department Information System platforms in hospitals across the nation. This required extensive comfort in CXO networking, negotiations, and hospital board presentations surrounding the electronic documentation, work-flow, and coding needs of emergency medicine.
Turnaround Challenges Achieved:
• Public to Private
• Assessed financial structure and eliminated more than $3mm in annual expenses
• Worked with investors to eliminate debt
• Rebuilt company's talent pool of employees (all divisions) to execute the turnaround
• Developed strategy / eliminated acquisition efforts outside of company's core competencies
• Negotiated hospital relationships eliminating litigation
• Developed brand credibility the industry could trust
• Developed / negotiated service contracts with multiple IDN's

As volunteer President, managed this competitive annual running event and charitable concert in downtown Fort Worth for three years. Between 2000 and 2003, grew event to 5,000 runners and gained national sponsors for product promotion such as Propel Fitness Water, Dallas Mavericks, Mizuno, as well as regional Texas business and media sponsors. This was a non-profit 501 C3 company benefiting youth church organizations that send kids to summer camps. Responsibilities included growing the event year over year, working with phenomenal volunteers, working with city departments, insurance, liability, P&L, and a great deal of "rolling up sleeves." Additionally, the event doubled as the Southwest USATF 5,000 meter road race Championships.

Worked under investment partnership's principals to provide operational due diligence on their existing three year investment in a emergency department information systems company. Within five months, I was transitioned by Berlwood to become the COO, then turnaround CEO for this company which was re-branded "Emergisoft."
