Mehdi Asgharzadeh’s Summary

I have been working with NIOC offshore department, IOOC since 2004 as a Geophysicist. I have been studying and working on seismic signature of different Persian Gulf reservoir formations for both exploration of new reserves and development of existing fields. Some of my studies and work experiences are summarized below:
 Modeling offset behavior of seismic amplitudes at the top of a sand oil/gas reservoir offshore Iran. (Selected paper at 4th Student Petroleum Conference, Ahvaz, December 2005)
 AVO fluid inversion of a 3-D volume of PSTM CDP gathers from a known oil/gas field, offshore Iran. (Selected paper at 12th Iranian Geophysics Conference, 21 February 2006).
 Characterizing the same reservoir as above with AI volume produced and also other seismic derived attributes by multi-attribute and neural network analysis.(Selected paper at first Iranian Petroleum Congregate, Tehran, 30 May 2006). Also(Presented at SPE 2007 Asia Pacific Oil and Gas Conference & Exhibition (APOGCE), 30 October - 1 November 2007, Jakarta, Indonesia).
 Carbonate Facies Discrimination , A Different look to AVO Attributes. A new method for carbonate facies prediction is developed based on principal theory of seismic amplitude variation with offset, AVO. (Selected paper at 4th North African/Mediterranean Petroleum and Geosciences Conference & Exhibition, Tunis, Tunisia.)
 Thin Layer Porosity Estimation Based on AVO Attributes. A new methodology and a simple equation for porosity prediction based on AVO attributes were developed and tested successfully on ultrasonic core measurements and seismic data. .
 Seismic Interpretation of Hendijan & Bahregansar oilfield north-west Persian Gulf, offshore Iran.
 A 4D feasibility study of saturation and pressure changes effect on seismic signature in Ghar formation, Aboozar Oilfield, Persian Gulf.
