Right now I am particularly interested in leveraging the power of the web 2.0 in our work and building community -- online and offline -- for the nonprofit sector, especially around issues of finance, management, and leadership. I think this is a very exciting moment and I want to ensure we are able to take advantage of these exciting new tools and technologies to enhance our work for the common good.
More generally, I oversee marketing and communications at Nonprofits Assistance Fund, where our goal is to help nonprofits realize their vision. I work to ensure that all of our communications suit our needs and audience, reflect our message, and are tied to our strategic goals.
My duties include:
• Developing content for and coordinating publication of our newsletters and brochures
• Upgrading and managing our online presence , including maintaining our website and blog (Balancing the Mission Checkbook) and launching a social networking initiative
• Outreach to clients and funders
• Managing media relations
• Coordinating training registrations

We provide loans that stabilize and transform organizations, offer strategic financial guidance, and work to encourage healthy financial practices. As part of Minnesota’s nonprofit community, we are here as a partner and a peer. We will support you on the road to success – as you connect your money to your mission and turn your passions into achievable goals.
All of our trainings and resources are specifically designed for the nonprofit community, from executive directors and other staff to board members and stakeholders. We also publish a weekly blog, the Balancing the Mission Checkbook, where Executive Director Kate Barr shares her unique insights and experiences on nonprofit management and finance.
