Conducting user research and understanding the business and functional requirements of the company leads to drawing up a initial design spec and wireframe. Then add detail to this by using scenarios and low-fi prototypes. These are validated by usability testing. Then develop high-fidelity prototypes using tools like Photoshop, HTML/CSS. Conduct usability testing. Draw up final documentation and ensure that development proceeds according to specification. This is my typical process. With a strong technical background, I am equipped with various lenses required to empathize and understand various parts of the organization.
