Art Roche has more than 9 years of leadership experience developing and managing immersive entertainment products in the highly competitive multi-platform marketplace.
In his former role as Creative Director for Cartoon Network New Media, Art had final creative approval on entertainment content for websites, online video and mobile platforms. In 2008, CartoonNetwork.com recorded nearly two billion game plays. By the end of 2008, the website had an average of seven million monthly unique visits.
Roche worked closely with network executives to program immersive experiences on the website. As early as 2002, he was instrumental in developing a content strategy that focused primarily on Flash games. Roche also served as the creative lead over the first in-house games production team for Cartoon Network.
Art participated in early development discussions around the network’s massively multi-player game, Fusion Fall. This included travel to Seoul, South Korea to interview potential development partners.
Roche joined Cartoon Network in August of 2000 as an associate creative director. Prior to joining Cartoon Network, Art worked as an award winning art director for Turner Studios’ Design Effects department.
Roche is the published author of two books on cartooning for children. He is also a member in good standing of the National Cartoonists Society, and creator of the daily comic strip Lotto Otto. In 2008, Art created the short-form series, Nacho Bear for Cartoon Network.
