I was raised in the travel industry. Then “joined the industry” about 20 years ago, as a full time travel agent working in my family’s privately owned travel firm. Working with our clients directly, I was able to advise from personal travel knowledge and experience from all my previous years of traveling. I was trained to guide the travel client with personal attention, awareness, and experience with a product or industry, such as Holland America, Travcoa, Wilderness Travel, Cruise West, and a host of other travel firms, hotels, and airlines.
I was later fortunate to join one of the largest family-run travel agencies in the United States—Rich Worldwide Travel. As any traveler is aware, there are “just so many destinations you can personally explore.” Joining this firm “raised the bar” of expertise. The total amount of collected knowledge available to an agent just improves the agent/client relationship.
Generally we have current up-to-date knowledge of any changes going on within a destination, such as construction at a hotel. The knowledge is as broad as travel experience can be.
Rich Worldwide Travel is a member of IGLTA and Virtuoso Travel Associations. Rich Worldwide Travel was recently awarded by Virtuoso—to be recognized as one of the top-ten agencies in the “Luxury Travel field”. This is a great honor for both the travel agents and Rich Worldwide Travel as a whole.
It should be mentioned that there are “trip and planning fees” that are applied to confirmed reservations. These fees vary upon the type of trip requested; yet the client gets personal service and generally is alerted to value-added features when available.
You’re not only working with a Travel Agent. You also get the Concierge Travel Service, for your Personal, Business, Corporate Meeting and or Incentive Travel
I listen to the clients, then help plan and advise. I question. I feel confident that if I do not know the correct answer I can find out. I focus on planning for the unexpected; personalized attention; expectation fulfillment; time management.

Where are my favorite places? I go down a list, starting with the season, an event, my mood: Do I want to relax? Do I want to explore? Are there places I have never traveled to or wish return to? Certainly. That’s the benefit of working with a well-traveled, diverse company. We constantly inform each other of our travel experiences.Yet there are many places I have traveled to and there are always new places to explore.
For the most part I am a land person. Recently I discovered the “Art of Cruising”. What a wonderful way to travel: “an Adult Day Care Center”. The best part of cruising is sitting on the balcony and watching the world go by. The ports of call have to be special to get off the ship. When most people get off the ship, I have another place to explore, watch, and learn.
My title is Manager of the Gay, Lesbian, and Transgender Division; I am also a luxury travel consultant. As a civil union partner for 16 years, I have always been open, as the world has been open to me.

Obviously I enjoy traveling. I love to drive along the roads, meet people, make stops, and get lost. ( Even though I have great maps for reference) Many funny stories and wonderful memories. I love to eat a good meal, a friend once remarked to me that she knew I was happy with the meal because I would "hum". I love to cook, experiment with food, take classes. Gardening, and figuring out different measures to keep the deer from attacking my plants. Books, I love them many kinds.I love history books, the stories prepare me for the areas I will be visiting. Top on the list: "History of the 20th Century 1933-42" by Martin Gilbert. It's an emotionally hard read, but incredible. It did take me a few months to recover. Fiction:This has not been out done yet great book: "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.Fun fiction:Anything by Jeffrey Archer. A British Author with that British whit. It’s best to pay attention. My children, One dog, 3 cats, 14 fish,One Blue and Gold Macau.
