Higher education and considerable international work gave him a unique insight into understanding people with widely different and often disparate interests and needs. The public university experience in particular required diplomacy and sensitivity to a widely varying audience in a collaborative environment that was still governed by state requirements. The retail and consumer electronics experience instilled a high level of customer service that he has carried with him to other fields.
