I am currently the President and CEO of DefineQA, an internet company based in San Diego that is developing a network of specialized and data-driven consumer guide websites of various categories.
I've worked 5+ years in the biotechnology industry monitoring and trending performance data of medical devices. My responsibilities required the application of statistical models and engineering principles to evaluate and improve quality control processes and to identify and model top performing products despite there being numerous factors to consider. I founded Define QA, Inc. based on my experience.
Define QA literally stands for "define quality assurance". Quality Assurance in any company is typically an inspection and improvement-seeking process to ensure that products meet or exceed reasonable customer expectations. At Define QA we emphasize a new art of quality assurance where product evaluations are performed after products are released and used by actual consumers in our everyday world. We aim to "define quality assurance" through product review statistics and consumer behavior analyses.
Because the Internet industry is quite different than the Biotech industry, I had apprehensions about my capabilities as a good leader for an e-company. Hence, I took it upon myself to independently build a prototype of a consumer guide site that I envision this company would be developing. I dove in by taking web development courses at a local community college, reading, and researching the net to learn HTML, Javascript, CSS, PHP, MySQL, web/graphic design, and SEO. The result was BeautyQA.com, my first Internet website. The bulk of the site is built from scratch, without the use of any pre-made framework or design templates.

I currently manage Define QA, a startup company that is building consumer guide websites in multiple industries. Define QA will be offering highly targeted and effective advertising for any product manufacturer or service provider in the related industry of any particular site. The company will also offer e-commerce opportunities for industry professionals and retailers of all sizes.

October 2002 — January 2008 (5 years 4 months)
I worked 5+ years analyzing performance data of diagnostic products produced in manufacturing. I've brainstormed, developed, and implemented processes and procedures to improve quality control. I was relied on as a problem solver which required the application of engineering, programming, and statistical methods such as multivariate analyses, DOEs, process capability, and process simulations. Was the project manager in validating a statistical software package to be used in manufacturing. During the years working at Biosite, I continued to develop my strengths as an analyst by auditing statistics classes at community colleges, reading books on total quality control, lean manufacturing, and six sigma, taking courses such as biostatistics through UCSD extension, and engineering/statistics on JMP.
