Aren Grimshaw’s Summary
I have a background covering media, sales and marketing and have been leading a range of social media networks and events in Cornwall for the last two years.
I jointly organise the Cornwall Social Media Café and was the lead organiser behind Cornwall’s Twestival, an international event held in 202 countries on the 12th February 2009 to raise money for charity. More recently I was involved in the follow up to Twestival as lead organiser of the Cornwall Twestival Local held in September.
I regularly speak on social media, delivering presentations to business networks, conferences and organisations within the region. I work with a range of clients to help them get the most from their social media approach both in marketing and wider business matters.
More recently I have delivered a series of international web based seminars in conjunction with UKNetWeb for businesses looking to get a basic understanding of the possibilities presented by social media. Previous attendees have included delegates from Brazil, USA, Finland and Australia.
In 2008 I was recognised by the Cornwall Hub, the region’s network for young business people, as Innovator of the Year for my work in establishing the Business Cornwall website and delivering a series of virtual conferences with my previous employer, UKNetWeb.
Within Tonick, I work with clients to establish their strategic direction and help them develop detailed action plans and strategies to ensure business success through both traditional and social media platforms.
I live with my partner and two children on the outskirts of Camborne in the west of Cornwall.

My work at Business Cornwall centres on taking the magazine out into the community on the web. I am responsible for the ongoing improvements and development of the main website including the integration of social media services.
Since joining the team in May the site has nearly doubled in weekly visitor numbers and content is now shared across a number of social media platforms.
Our aim is to continue making the site inclusive and enable those with an interest in Cornish business to discover, share and add to the stories we cover.
