Filmmaking has been in my blood since my 1980’s childhood, when I first hoisted a VHS camcorder over my shoulder and started making 007 movies in my east Bay Area backyard. Smash cut to my college years, where I drifted from Santa Barbara to UC Davis to Nashville, in search of an elusive muse. Upon graduating in 1997 and still suffering from an acute case of wanderlust, I tested the waters in Austin, New York, Seattle, Vancouver and Toronto before finally surrendering to the inevitability of Los Angeles. There I paid my dues with tours of duty at UCLA’s film school (production track), Miramax (in production and development), NBC (at ‘Saved By the Bell’ and LL Cool J's ‘In The House’) and the Slamdance Film Festival (doing festival coordination in Park City and Cannes).
In 2001, having fallen in love with a woman and out of love with a city, my beloved Cheri and I took a long and consciousness-rasing trip through the Indian Subcontinent. It was there I decided to leave it all behind, move with her to San Francisco to help start Conscious Creative, an eco-minded multimedia studio dedicated to supporting good causes. At Conscious Creative, I progressively started offering my services as an editor, followed by a camera operator, a director of photography, and then finally as a writer/director. Spanning from shorts to features, from documentaries to commercials, I’ve been fortunate to enjoy award recognition, distribution, festival and/or broadcast exposure in all areas. I’d still love to make a James Bond movie, and in my spare time, I enjoy hoisting a camcorder over my shoulder--HD these days--and making movies with friends.
