My main responsibility is to assist the publisher with driving strategic objectives of the business unit through the development of digital marketing, online brand extensions and other multimedia platforms.
Daily analysis and interpretation of world and local trends in different media genres, communicating with editors, directors and senior management while liaising with different business units in the Naspers Group as well as in the open market to ensure effective use of available skills and applications and to negotiate agreements form part of my responsibilities. Furthermore I liaise with technical, creative and logistical teams and departments to ensure the effective and timely development of multimedia platforms.

The Erasmus Mundus Masters Degree Programme explores the practice and performance of journalism and the media in the context of a new environment brought about by globalisation, modernisation, commercialisation and professional developments. The program aims to prepare students for the challenge of working in the new global information society. I participated in a semester of this 3 year degree programme at the University of Hamburg's prestigious journalism department as part of a bilateral exchange framework with Stellenbosch University completing 4 modules: Journalism, Media and Society; International Media Systems in an International Comparative Perspective; Comparative Research and Introduction to German.

The introduction to this course was presented over the period of a month during a summer school program at the University of Helsinki which is aimed to equip students with practical skills combined with the analytical and conceptual abilities needed in the evolving field of arts management. During the course students from all over the world participate in lectures, workshops and case studies that are aimed to familiarize the students with the basic definitions, methodologies and theories of the arts management field.
