A history of strong interest in internet applications and commercialisation of different ideas. Travelled in different parts of the world studying different cultures and commerces and made a lot of excellent friends around the globe. August 2005 — Present (3 years)
I found out that there were lots of small companies and organisations looking for people building websites and giving them advice on how to go about with their online strategies. I took advantage of this and made a little pocket money for myself, designing websites and consulting SME's on their web strategies.
At the moment, I only take care of my old customers and don't seek for new business anymore.

Second part of my work with TBRC (after my exchange in Sydney, Australia) focused on finishing my thesis. I also authored an article with Sanna-Katariina Asikainen (Sundqvist) and Susanna Winter on the referral network structure and adoption behavior in online environments. The paper was later published in Journal of Interactive Advertising, Spring 2006 edition.
I also finished my Master's Thesis and further focused it to how startups push their products into the mass markets with different marketing strategies.
(Online Media industry)
September 2004 — February 2005 (6 months)
First part of my work with TBRC relates to beginning work on my Master's Thesis. I was the first researcher accepted into the DAAMI program, funded by the Academy of Finland. My focus in my research was on diffusion of innovations and how marketing supports this.
(Educational Institution; 1001-5000 employees; Internet industry)
August 2001 — May 2002 (10 months)
I built the local student union website to support discussion between people regardless of time and space. I also redesigned and built the old HSE Mikkeli website and pushed forward the notion of continuing updates to keep people interested. This post gave me an excellent, yet quite technical view into working with people and solving their problems (not necessarily technical in nature) on a technology level.
(Educational Institution; 201-500 employees; Non-Profit Organization Management industry)
January 2001 — December 2001 (1 year)
Being in charge of Public Relations, I was the person that mainly handled our connections to the local businesses around our campus. I organised two events, first a day of entrepreneurship (I remember the rooms being packed with listeners) followed by a career day focusing on the different career paths. I enjoyed my post and wish I could have done it all over again once the year ended - great people and memorable events!
M.Sc., Marketing and Management, February 2005 — July 2005
Second exchange to study abroad
M.Sc., International Marketing, 2003 — 2005
I was accepted into Hanken Helsinki, but decided to follow my roots and academic passion to Lappeenranta to study International Marketing. One of the reasons that lead me to decide this way was the combination of technology and business that Lappeenranta is very good at nurturing.
My Master's thesis, "Creating awareness in mass markets - Experiences from small and medium sized companies", studied the marketing strategies companies used to enter mass markets. The focus was on mobile and online companies.
