I'm a San Francisco based artist committed to reviving the tradition of the French Impressionists, with a contemporary point of view. Winemakers take me on a tour of their vineyards where I plant my easel. Then I paint the colors of the vineyards as they change with the seasons, creating authentic and timeless pieces that reflect the unique beauty of each vineyard. Collectors select from the very best of these field studies, painted in over a dozen wine regions, and commission me to explore my naturally inspired color on larger canvases scaled to suit their space.
My subject is color inspired by natural light, as it exists in time. The objects of my attention include vineyards, private gardens, and contemporary still life. My mediums include oil on canvas, pastel, and charcoal on fine Arches French watercolor paper. I even use the same oil pigments as Van Gough from Old Holland Oil Works established in 1664.
Choose from a full range of scale and price, including; original oil paintings, Giclee prints, and custom large-scale commissioned works that you can scale to suit your space to fit to project budget. fine art prints and accessories to art collectors, interior designers fine retailers, and the wine trade.
The collectible status of my work has been steadily increasing and continues to be featured in the national media, most recently on "Fine Living" and NBC's "In Wine Country", and in "The Wine Enthusiast" and "Fortune" magazines. Read about my blue ocean business strategy in "Career Renegade" by Jonathan Fields, published by Random House. My work is commended by Wayne Thiebaud (an American Art icon) and it is acquired by a growing list of collectors and celebrities across the US, Canada, and Europe, including, Bob Proctor, host of the movie The Secret.
My book, Colors of Terroir, an artist's tour of Sonoma, a collection of my California vineyard paintings, will be published soon. Take home a piece of the wine country visit annrea.com.
