Brief Bio ...
As with most citizens born and raised in rural Michigan, Anne Marie (Bellor) Brauer appeared predestined for a small town life. But after business studies and 8 years of being shuffled between administrative positions, a move to Washington, D.C. in 1988 led to refreshing and exciting change:
- national coordinator for the real estate consulting division of a “Big 10” accounting firm;
- management positions with a successful commercial developer;
- non-profit communication and development work in the solid waste services industry and research;
- and continuation of studies in Institutional Management and that of a personal passion, Science.
After a total of thirteen years in our Nation’s Capitol and marriage to a “commuting” international, transfers between the States and Europe became frequent and provided opportunities to learn languages and experience interesting cultures:
- a brief contract with the United Nations Convention on Climate Change allowed for Asian travel and assisting representatives on Ministerial level;
- apprentice (voluntary) dietary work in a German hospital provided concentrated exposure to language and a host of traditions;
- and volunteer (termed) Board member and Fundraising Director positions at a non-profit Anglophone educational association in Paris ensured interaction with international donors and staff.
But life as an expatriate volunteer started to take its toll, and business seminars and writers workshops soon occupied her time. It was through an introduction to screenwriting and continual exposure to French and German television programming and film that a tremendous interest in the discipline took hold.
