Analyst, adviser, designer, writer about all things "immersive environments": serious games, virtual worlds, simulations, 3D. My interest focuses on the benefits and advancements that technology brings to learning and productivity.

I provide strategy consultation to organizations looking to advance their efforts in the "immersive technologies" space. For example:
- Guided "Company T" through their transition from being an eLearning provider to a serious games developer/provider, including matchmaking with appropriate developer resources.
- Business development and introductions for "Company P"
- Worked with board and executive team of "Company C" in re-shaping business model away from custom title development to tools developer
- Advised "Company Q" on monetization strategies for highly specialized content

- managing the "California Heritage Trees" project for a real estate investment group, which included selling many acres of old growth olive trees to olive oil producers and landscapers
- launching and overseeing a national non-profit organization (Engage America) focused on raising voter turnout

An eLearning company, initially focused on the European education market, with a proprietary game engine and learning content management system called ThinkTanx. Viviance merged with Informania to gain a foothold in the US market and to acquire IP and technology.
Accomplishments included setting the strategy for Viviance's industry focus and developing the concept Communities of Excellence, Viviance's solution for an industry's learning needs. Part of the team responsible for securing second-round funding of 17 million euros from a group of European investors, including 3i (London) and Bank Vantobel (Austria). Member of executive team. Member, Board of Directors.

Self-funded, multi-million dollar consulting company specializing in custom technology-delivered training and communication programs. Published Learning without Limits, a trade journal for the e-learning industry. Informania gained international notice for many industry-leading projects, including the pilot for the Kingdom of Norway’s National Learning Network, Novell's Certified Novell Salesperson program and curriculum (which included an online game/sim as part of the advanced courses), McKesson's competency-driven comprehensive sales training, and Apple's online testing system. Informania won numerous industry awards, both for its content design work and for the learning management technology it developed, called WebLearn Plus.

Principal on projects for Apple, IBM and SRA.
The centerpiece of the curriculum we developed for Apple (in 1988-89) was an award-winning videogame to teach networking/communications skills to Apple VARs. The game put the player in the role of a salesperson whose account was a talent agency. Each NPC represented a different net/comm problem to be solved.
