Freelance journalist looking for a full-time home. Addicted to media, politics and information.

I love to write. I love to campaign, whether it's on a client's behalf or that of a candidate for elected office or a business or non-profit entity. I love to plot a messaging strategy. I love working on branding efforts for both organizations and individuals.
Finally, I love to organize people, disseminate information, educate and advise.
I am currently looking for employment within an organization that will allow me to actively apply these skills.
Media relations, issues management, politics (especially local issues), branding and identity, non-profits, grassroots organizing

January 1999 — December 2007 (9 years)
As a member (and then President) of the Student Board, I ran meetings, set an agenda, planned, marketed, and executed events, was instrumental in fundraising. I also recruited new student members, attended meetings of the Governing Board, attended leadership conferences and otherwise represented our Hillel locally and nationally.
Currently I am one of the few UIC Hillel alumni that sits on the Governing Board. My focus there has been on public relations, specifically branding the UIC Hillel, developing its identity and making sure that identity is reflected in all its communications and marketing materials.
NOTE: I am still involved in this organization; the ending date is arbitrarily entered to allow me to enter my current employer.
