Anna Hackman’s Summary

I am a green building and business consultant and LEED AP with a unique perspective having built my own energy star eco friendly home starting in 2003 complete with a geothermal system and whole house HEPA/energy recovery system to just name of few of the componets of the house. The focus of the house was to incorporate energy efficient products as well as nontoxic ones that would not cause indoor air quality issues in the house. I have continued in this vein, as I am furnishing the house.

I bring to the table the understanding how products will work in a home or commerical business having lived with them for almost four years. In addition, my background as a real estate attorney who specialized in real estate development work completes my knowlege of the building industry.

In addition, I am an organic gardener and well versed as to the aspect of growing food and maintaining a lawn and garden without unhealthy chemicals.

As I have grown, I have added "queen" recycler to the list by encouraging recycling programs for profit at the schools, re-using rather recycling, and reducing the amount of waste we produce.

As the editor of Green Talk (www.green-talk.com) I am constantly exposed to new products and ideas for the home, garden, and office adding to my knowledge which includes new technology, lighting, furniture, and gardening products. My belief is to constantly push the envelope hoping that perhaps my suggestions will reasonate with my readers.

Green Talk is not a group of sound bite articles leaving the reader to have to investigate further. Due to my training as a lawyer, I throughly investigate products and ask questions based upon my own experiences. My goals for this website is to create a community of like minded people that helps each other to live a greener lifestyle.

I am available for consulting with architects, builders, and green building companies as well as other business who wish to make their companies more sustainable.
