Zunimar Music is the BMI affiliated vanity publishing company for Angel Zuniga Martinez and his band ANGEL ZUNIGA.
Angel Zuniga sounds like and is influenced by MORRISSEY, U2, QUEEN, Bowie, The Doors, and much of the 70s and 80s. Angel Zuniga is a diverse Knoxville based Rock band fronted by a swaggering South Texas singer/guitarist Angel Zuniga Martinez. Heart felt power pop melodies and dynamic songwriting spill over venomous roots rock n roll. What sets Angel apart from other songwriters and bands is his unique songwriting, voice, and interesting personal story. Raised Catholic with paternal family ties to withcraft in South Texas, Angel was later called into a charismatic evangelical belief by his mother. Shunned by the Church for playing the devil's music, Rock N Roll, and questioning hypocrisy, Angel sought a more personal spirituality and joy that has anchored his continued passion for the arts.
Zuniga found past success with his former band, Angel and the Love Mongers (ATLM), formed in the spring of 2004 in Knoxville. ATLMs self-titled first album was produced by Don Coffey, Jr. (Superdrag), and released on Disgraceland Records in February 2005. For their second, they turned to veteran Mitch Easter (R.E.M., Let's Active, Wilco), who produced and played on The Humanist Queen, released by indie label Rock Snob Records on September 4, 2007, following the band's June appearance at the Bonnaroo Festival.
Angel is excited to have Grammy award winning Producer/Engineer, Joe McGrath (Morrissey/AFI/GreenDay/KebMo), engaged in working on his solo album, "The Cage". He is in talks to find a label home for his new project.
