Angela Boothroyd’s Summary

I am an experienced and qualified teacher of English for speakers of other languages. I have taught students at all levels and from many different countries, including: Poland; Hungary; Czech Republic; Slovakia; Switzerland; China; Thailand; Bangladesh; Cambodia; Turkey; Argentina; Peru and the Faroe Isles. These students bring to our classes a very diverse range of cultural, social and educational backgrounds. I love my work and thoroughly enjoy working with such interesting people.

It was 'back-packing' in Europe when I was in my early twenties that first inspired me to become an English language teacher - that and my fascination with language and how it all works. Approximately five years ago I became very interested in the potential of online learning for language learners, and it was then that the idea for Studying Online came about: to provide professional online English lessons to learners worldwide. My aim has always been to provide high quality lessons and with this in mind I studied for an MA in Online Education (online of course!) in order to acquire the expertise in online learning that I needed.

I also have an MEd in Applied Linguistics and I am a qualified European Net-Trainer. Net-Trainer is a European term to describe the role of the online or etutor, and the qualification is awarded by the European Net-Trainers Association and recognized in nine European countries.
