Chairman at Welcome Real-time
Singapore
Aneace Haddad has been a board chairman for the past 16 years, first with a marketing technology company that he founded in Paris in 1992, then, since 1996, with Welcome Real-time, a payment technology company Aneace founded in Aix-en-Provence, France. Today, Welcome is a global provider of payment software with bank customers in 21 countries, revenues growing at 50% per year and 140 employees in Aix-en-Provence, Paris, Sao Paulo and Singapore.
Aneace secured early stage funding for Welcome through several rounds of investment from strategic partners. In 2001, new shareholders were added with the acquisition of a competitor in Singapore, which subsequently became the company’s global software development centre. In a management buyout in 2007, AXA Private Equity acquired the majority of the shares of Welcome from the founding investors, with the remaining shares purchased by management.
Aneace’s role has included coaching of the CEO and top executives, guiding strategic marketing decisions, driving new product initiatives and establishing the company’s thought leadership. Aneace also filed numerous patents for Welcome and acquired substantial expertise in the use of patents to create a global competitive advantage; in 2001, he managed and won an infringement lawsuit against a competitor in the US and Australia, establishing patent jurisprudence in the process.
Aneace is the author of two payment card strategy books and numerous articles published in banking magazines and journals. He is a frequent speaker at conferences around the world. Aneace’s Blog rates among the top 10 payments and banking blogs.
A 25-year veteran of the point-of-sale and smart card software industry, Aneace began his career developing retail point-of-sale software in Denver, Colorado, in the early 1980’s.
