I develop a HPC/MPI data mining/data scrubbing application. The input data come from different providers, and each provider has its own variation of CSV format. Basically, different providers use different separators and quoting/escaping characters, different character escaping schemes, and each of over 20 supported fields may come in different formats. The software recognizes the input format, validates the data using a huge set of hard-coded rules and configuration files, reformats all fields and outputs the data in a canonic form.
