Andy Fraizer is a public policy strategist and community development practitioner.
Fraizer is the Executive Director of the Indiana Association for Community Economic Development (IACED). IACED is dedicated to serving those who build strong Indiana communities. IACED members rehabilitate and construct housing, create jobs, develop real estate, support small business development and deliver social services. IACED works to strengthen both the community economic development industry and local organizations through technical assistance, public policy advocacy, training and professional development and member collaboration.
Before joining IACED, Fraizer was director of community development for the city of Indianapolis. His focus was working with local government agencies and community partners to enhance local quality of life and promote a holistic approach to community development. In this position, he was responsible for initiatives to produce and improve access to affordable housing, reuse abandoned properties, revitalize commercial districts, improve access to jobs and amenities, beautify communities and engage residents.
Fraizer is immediate past chairperson and active board member with Horizon House, a homeless day center. Fraizer’s other community involvement on boards and committees includes Family Development Services—a Head Start agency, Momentive Consumer Credit Counseling, LISC Local Advisory Committee and United Way Planning and Research Committee. His experience includes leading strategic planning, evaluating executive staff, managing budgets, identifying new lines of business, identifying and developing needed board trainings, managing crisis and fundraising.
Fraizer earned a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University in Secondary Education and Political Science and a master's degree in Public Affairs at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
