I've worked for a series of high tech startups and turnarounds, including a web site for collectors, a ride sharing application service provider, an online disk to disk backup company, an industrial robotics company, an automated DVD rental company, and a professional services / recruiting firm. Prior to that I worked for several “beltway bandits”, as well as a window coverings company, a janitorial services company, and a concrete picnic table manufacturer. I've founded companies, built teams, raised capital, managed software development, company server rooms and data center equipment, been a truck driver, a janitor, a salesman, and a paperboy. I currently produce podcasts on entrepreneurship and moderate a discussion list for entrepreneurs. I have a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Everyone collects something – coins, art, stamps, toys, glassware, memorabilia, magazines, or dolls - to name just a few categories. These collections have meaning, and people are naturally curious about the history and value of their things.
WorthPoint has organized the world’s information on collectibles into a central library or “worth” database - the Worthopedia. You have access to this wealth of data on prices, descriptions, pictures and sale dates, compiled from hundreds of auction houses. It’s easy to find and compare items to determine the value of your collectibles. And through our communities you can connect with other collectors interested in buying, selling, or swapping stories and share your insight and knowledge through our forums and wikis.
So what do you collect? Would you like to know what a particular piece is worth? Care to meet others who collect what you do? Please join us at WorthPoint!

Filmlocker owned and operated fully automated videotape and DVD rental kiosks. Our customers could reserve the movie remotely (via dial up or the Internet) and then go to the kiosk location to pick up the movie, knowing that it would be there. I was part of the team that went to Italy to select the kiosk manufacturer. I went to Italy for training on the kiosk systems, and then trained the U.S. staff. I arranged for Filmlocker to use the Baan ERP system in the back office, and Onesoft to develop the web site. I secured the single largest investment in Filmlocker.

I sourced and won Redbridges first two contracts: building a video-on-demand ad injection system, and building a reporting system, both from BVS / TELE-TV - Bell Atlantics mid 90s entry into the video on demand marketplace. I held both recruiting and placement positions, often serving as the first Redbridge consultant to be placed into a promising new customer site. My technical accomplishments included developing systems using Visual Basic, MS Access, Oracle Designer, Oracle Developer (Forms and Reports), Oracle Objects for OLE (OO4O), Oracle RDDMS stored procedures written in PL/SQL, and developing web sites based on Netscape, Oracle, and Microsoft products, among others.
