Andy Sieg is Managing Director and Head of Retirement & Philanthropic Services at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch.
Previously, Mr. Sieg was Head of the Emerging Affluent Client Segment within Citigroup Global Wealth Management. While at Citi, he developed "myFi," an innovative new business designed to help mass affluent clients take control of their entire financial life.
Prior to joining Citi, Mr. Sieg spent 13 years at Merrill Lynch. He joined the company in 1992 as an analyst in the U.S. Private Client Group, and held a succession of roles encompassing strategic planning, corporate marketing and public-policy communications. In 1998, Mr. Sieg was named Assistant to the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, becoming the youngest executive to hold the position.
From 2000 to 2002, Mr. Sieg led the creation of the Merrill Lynch Financial Advisory Center (FAC), a new business serving the wealth management needs of more than 1.5 million emerging affluent clients in the US and internationally.
From 2002 to 2004, Mr. Sieg headed Merrill Lynch's private client offices in San Diego, California, leading them to substantially improved performance while being named one of the company's top field office managers.
From 2004 to 2005, Mr. Sieg was Managing Director of the firm’s flagship international private banking office, the New York International Complex.
Before joining Merrill Lynch, Mr. Sieg served in The White House from 1990 to 1991, as an aide to the Assistant to the President for Economic and Domestic Policy.
Mr. Sieg was born in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, on April 19, 1967. He received a Bachelor of Science in Economics with Honors and Highest Distinction from The Pennsylvania State University in 1989. Mr. Sieg also holds a Master in Public Policy (MPP) degree from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, where his second-year public policy analysis was recognized as the outstanding work of the 1992 MPP class.
