From 1996 to 2003 I worked at several small agencies as a writer and creative director. In 2003, I co-founded Lisa P. Maxwell, which has grown to $6MM in billings/20 team members. I continue to serve as Managing Director. I am also an equity owner in and handle some strategic planning for Visible, an SEO provider that focuses on startups and small businesses, and provides silent partner SEO services to other agencies. My professional goal is to make Lisa P. Maxwell the most sought-after small agency in the world.

I headed up creative teams working on Discover Card and Microsoft UltimateTV business. Specifically, I led concepting, presented work to clients, and developed/executed marketing programs - most which played in retail/environmental space. For Discover Card, most of my/our work centered around the client's Mills shopping center sponsorship. We helped Discover Card create impact and drive card usage in about a dozen Mills malls nationwide. For Microsoft UltimateTV, we developed retail marketing programs to drive engagement and sales across multiple retail formats.

Kurtzman Slavin was a small agency located in Northfield, IL (on Chicago's North Shore). I wrote and creative directed on several small accounts, including Currency Exchange, Autohaus on Edens (a Mercedes dealership) and Piser (a Funeral Home). In 1999, I decided I needed to be at a city agency, and so I moved to Upshot. In 2000, Kurtzman and Slavin parted ways. Slavin reincorporated as Design2211. In 2003, Jeff Schueman and I acquired the assets of Design2211, and that's how Lisa P. Maxwell was born.

When I joined Brown, it was, at the time, among the three or four oldest agencies in the country. It was old. Like, people still smoked at their desks. Before presenting my radio scripts to the Creative Director, I would hand them over to the "copy girl," who would type them up. It was like "Mad Men," but without (at least, as far as I knew) the sex. The agency had two clients: Principal Financial Group/Principal Health Care and DeVry. I worked on Principal. I mostly wrote radio scripts and billboard headlines. Although I'd worked as a freelance writer for almost a decade, this was my first agency job. I absolutely loved it.
I like chill music, cooking, watching movies and exercise, especially walking.
It's an honor to know you.
