Sometu (http://sometu.ning.com/) is an open network for everyone interested in social media and learning (not only in the educational sector). It was founded in Finland (Nov. 2007) and today counts over 1200 members.
In Oct. 2008 I created Sometu English a group that opened Sometu internationally to non-Finnish speaking audience (http://sometu.ning.com/group/english).

Suupohja Living Lab is part of the European Network of Living Labs. Its concept and actions are part of the Regional Development Center Programme for the District of Kauhajoki, which is managed by the Federation of Municipalities for Economic Development in Suupohja region (Finland).
IST - Information Society Technologies is one of the thematic priorities in the European Union Sixth Framework Programme for research and technological development. The research activities funded in this framework address both technical aspects (hardware, software, knowledge) and societal challenges (communication, collaborative working, education) of Information Technologies.

The course combined the core basis of business English with a wide range of social and cultural aspects that are essential in today’s business world. In addition to this with BEC I provided a full package of tips and digital tools to help the attendees and their organizations to better communicate at international level.
