    Emerging from a need to organize and systematize research on sustainopreneurship beyond a list of crucial publishing finally defining the concept, and testing the definition's validation, I have taken the initiative to form an interim association on enactive research, education and application of sustainopreneurship - in short iÆREAS. Now, after the conceptual inception, a new stage is reached beyond the first full-fledged research loop making the concept valid and understood. This is made possible from the last two publications (see Master Thesis link at "Freelance Researcher" position at Växjö University). Private invitations of founding members will commence more systematically after some crucial publishing (subscribe to the association blog when the publishing is done). The project has been posted at the Ki-work platform.

    My formal senior studies led to an MSc BA, with Master Thesis subject "Sustainopreneurship - Business with a Cause: Conceptualizing Entrepreneurship for Sustainability". A direct sequel was a research paper presented at ISDRS, International Sustainable Development Research Society 13th Conference 10-12 June, 2007 in Mälardalen University, Västerås, Sweden, outlining prospective further research on sustainopreneurship. These two publications will merge into one and will be published at Swedish Foundation for Small Business Research (FSF) later this year. The conference article has undergone heavy editing and will be included as a book chapter in a book to be published Autumn 2008 from FSF as well.

    One of the key driving forces of all my activities has been to increase the funds to get leverage, proliferation, diffusion and empowerment to Sustainability Innovations towards full-fledged Sustainability Enterprises, read full story in my Master Thesis (search Google Scholar http://scholar.google.com on 'sustainopreneurship'). The brand name has shifted through the years, but the basic idea is the same. Though, the understanding has deepened significantly around the challenges to establish sustainopreneurial ventures. SEEDS as an acronym stands for Strengthening of Health, Education, Entrepreneurship, Digital Unification and Sustainable Distributed Energy, and it is the main topic for my pending paper to be presented in India.

    I brought my core issue "Sustainablity Innovations" there, systematically scouting to fill the toolbox to solve problems related to poverty eradication and climate change - tools facilitating Strengthening of health, Entrepreneurship, Education, Digital unification and Sustainable distributed energy.

    People first, then technology, then financial resources, in that order – i. e. micro-finance with a sustainability cause!

    During this period I prepared and branded this concept and idea, but this idea has been retwisted, refocused and revamped to suit more research than networking needs through iÆREAS.

    This association had the intention and purpose to amplify and accelerate existing sustainopreneurial ventures in survival, emerging and developed economies globally in inter-local and multi-local activities. Instead of multiplying the works associated to the association, it was meant to have replications of good practices to be done, with culturally adapted franchises.

    It was intended that the synergy and leverage that came from unifying the existing initiatives should increase the power of the associated processes by coming together and collectively and collaboratively share experiences and energy in a plus-sum game.

    After Brand Consultancy (see earlier position and endorsement below - Sustainablity Profile Clothings brand Ignition™), with CEO Rikard Jansson as the coordinator of the Sustainable Business build-up, with final step deciding the Logotype - designed by Johan Jonasson, Visualizer of Complexity - a new phase in the brand development was introduced in May, 2005.

    I helped CEO Rikard Jansson in this phase with networking to strengthen the brand with content listing candidates for our first "brand holders" with first campaign clients to source from us.

    It is an open transparent brand system where our true value is defined by every relation we tap into, thus the sensitivity in this process and linking in with first pioneer orders. Primary dialogue partner in support to CEO Rikard Jansson writing the business plan for external financing for the greater launch of the brand webshop during the course of 2006 when financing secured.

    Former member of international branding think-tank, promoting humanity in business and ethical and transparent practices for the twenty-first century. The group names brands of the year based on social responsibility, termed Brands With a Conscience since 2004, to which I was a member of the BwaC 2006 committee (see press release at home page).

    I attended first Winter Retreat in January 2005 in London. Medinge has its name after Medinge Säteri, with its owners hosting the "Davos of Branding" Summer Retreats in August every year, by co-founders Thomas Gad and Anette Rosencreutz, where I was attending August 2005.

    Membership ended in December 2005 of reasons I might disclose when certain issues has been resolved internally within the group. Answers pending.

    After winning the first year of SIFE Sweden 2004 - see Honours and awards section - the summer of 2005, not being a participant in the competition this year, I got the assignment to support and coach the Stockholm School of Economics as the winning team in Swedish SIFE competition that took place in June. This includes to prepare them for what to come when presenting their winning case for the SIFE World Cup in Toronto, this Fall - October 2005. The winning case was Rinkeby Business Lab - to support Young Entrepreneurs in a marginalized immigrant dense Stockholm suburb on the primary school level - where mentors come from Stockholm School of Economics. In short - a typical Social Entrepreneurship project. One of two Pro Bono assignments during 2005.

    SIFE is an international Non-Profit organization with 1700+ universities in almost 50 nations worldwide represented.

    Following an Idea fired up during the Medinge Winter Retreat (chaired by World Brand Expert Chris Macrae in January 2005) with Friends Ed Daniel and Lilly Evans, the DM community went live April, 2005, collecting proactive forces for sustainability.

    E. g. microfinance is one example. It is an application of the concept Sustainability Innovation, where microfinance is an innovation for sustainability, with the sustainability problem it helps solving is poverty - with a list of maybe 15 core sustainability problems, e. g. climate change, illiteracy, health issues like hunger/water/obesity/HIV/AIDS all reinforcing poverty in vicious circles.

    I seized the moderator job in July 2005, and site closed Jan 2006. This virtual community of practice failed to meet its goals, and I take the lessons of this to make it better out with ÆREAS build up. One of the core lessons is that the team operating it should not do it Pro Bono.

This means learning about both context and issue (entrepreneurship in developing country context) through taking out an own initiative in the context. Pre-study of OAM Uganda/Sweden, done together with the former Ugandan founder and Executive Director of OAM Uganda Ltd., back then field tutor, Joseph Muwonge.

    I had a prolonged field study to support the On a Mission Business Startup 2001-02, as well as starting the Swedish counterpart full-time when coming back as working chairman of the board 2002-04, and also co-develop the Brand Ignition™/® and concrete offering of the venture beyond the chairmanship - with activity as set above. Thus the "registration-only" status of my senior university studies most of the time, until the point where I used the OAM Concept, SEEDS Sustainability Investment Fund, SEEDS Magazine, Club PuLS, DJ Anders, S*E*N*S*A, Ignition™ and SLICE Brands as eight interlinked case studies for the Master Thesis published May 2007, getting my degree. The Business Plan and the recruitment of our first external client was the last part of the empirical material of the Thesis, preparing for the launch in 2007 now with end of formal studies.

    "aBSc" stands for "almost Bachelor of Science". I dropped out since it was too focused on "Big Business as Usual", and retrospectively my home really was set into "Small Business as Unusual - Thinking Big". In other words entrepreneurial rather than corporate.

    Member of committee "I-ARMAR": Founder/designer/chief editor of a publication reaching all students at IEM, bridging and matchmaking them to the labour market.

    Conducting also a well-attended full day seminar on Entrepreneurship (second biggest lecture hall at Chalmers), in cooperation with the faculty 1994. An instant poll showed that less than 10 was aiming to start a company after studies out of maybe 300. "Aiming for Employability" is a strong Swedish cultural paradigm!
