Also moderated three panels at the 2008 Dubai International Financial Centre's (DIFC) prestigious annual series, and in 2006 she also has moderated three panels at the “The Women´s Forum for the Economy and Society” en Deauville, France. She was the Master of Ceremonies for one of the most important international gathering in Mexico for 2002: The CEO Summit for the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Los Cabos, Mexico, which had the participation of 12 world leaders and 300 of the most important CEO in the world. She has been invited numerous times to “converse” with world personalities including former Mexican President Dr. Ernesto Zedillo on “Globalization and Emerging Markets” at Expo Management Mexico and movie Director Francis Ford Coppola in 2007 at the World Marketing Forum.     El tema del consumo de drogas en México es de una importancia radical y se agudizará, sin lugar a dudas, en el futuro, por causas estructurales que están por encima de los discursos sobre la moral y los valores. No se trata de imponer criterios morales a adultos que pueden decidir qué hacer con su vida y sus cuerpos, sino a niños y jóvenes atrapados en una red de consumo, complicidades, ausencia de un sistema de rehabilitación y protección accesible y enormes espacios para cubrir la adicción vía la delincuencia, en un país que suele considerar al adicto no como un enfermo sino como un delincuente. Consecuencia de ello, la única visión que parece prevalecer en la mayoría de los sectores de poder es una solución policial, represiva, que sin duda es necesaria pero que nunca será suficiente si no se parte del principio básico de entender el fenómeno del consumo como algo que trasciende, con mucho, simplemente el ámbito delincuencial.

    “¿Qué sigue después de la guerra en Irak?” Es la pregunta que muchas personas se hacen ante el bombardeo de información al respecto. Incertidumbre, zozobra, inquietud por saber lo que prepara el líder de la nación más poderosa del orbe.
    Basada en su experiencia de trabajo y planeación de programas especiales dentro del sistema político norteamericano, la autora analiza las nuevas tendencias mundiales a raíz de los atentados del 11 de septiembre de 2001, deteniéndose particularmente en el proceso mediante el cual Estados Unidos se convirtió en una hiperpotencia a la cual no se le opone ningún contrapeso o freno alguno que pueda moderar sus acciones y decisiones. Esto resulta especialmente preocupante porque, argumentando razones de seguridad nacional, este país ha desarrollado una política exterior unilateral que adquiere forma en la llamada “guerra preventiva” o política proactiva, que consiste en atacar antes de ser atacados, es decir sin la certeza de que serán atacados, pero basados solamente en sospechas y en la popular frase “la mejor defensa es el ataque”. Ejemplos concretos son Afganistán e Irak.
    Ante esta situación, Salazar examina el rumbo que tomarán los sistemas de seguridad en Estados Unidos y las repercusiones para todo el continente americano; en particular revisa la perspectiva para México, en donde la transición a la democracia ha llevado a replantear gran parte de las políticas públicas, entre ellas la de seguridad. De este modo, partiendo de nociones teóricas sobre seguridad y participación ciudadana, compara los sistemas políticos de ambos países respecto de la seguridad nacional, en particular sobre la seguridad fronteriza. Si bien ambas naciones comparten algunos problemas de seguridad fronteriza y otros como los altos índices de criminalidad y violencia, en el ámbito cotidiano los efectos son distintos, y por tanto requieren otros enfoques y manejos, que se presentan y analizan a lo largo del libro.
