Amon Focus’s Summary
Alright, let’s see if I can keep this as brief as possible, here goes:
I was born in Berlin, and raised in South Jamaica Queens, New York.
Graduated from High School clueless as to my career path in ’96, then headed to Mississippi to find it.
Got a job in a Poultry Plant in a small town named Laurel. Realized fairly quickly that I didn’t have a passion for making little chicken breasts into big chicken breasts for a living. So I began to think very, very hard about my immediate future.
Decided on a Junior College in Upstate New York the following year and was convinced that being a professional chef was the ticket. Learned that chefs had to cook! - changed majors; put one foot on my career path when my new major became Communication Media Arts. Graduated.
Headed back down to Mississippi and completed my undergrad with a degree in Radio, Television and Film. Before I left the south, I got my first video credit doing production Assist/Boom Mic Operator, for a straight-to-DVD project featuring Cedric the Entertainer - called The Starting Line Up.
Went back to the Mountains of New York to prepare for my next move. Got a job at Walmart selling Rifles to hunters, and saved the money.
Spent the $80 Dollars I saved working at Walmart, and began making my way to Orlando, Florida. Attended Full Sail University, and put my second foot on my career path. Graduated with honors, and the ability to sprint, jump, pole vault, and hurdle my way through the field of Digital Media.
Became an Associate Producer Intern at Nickelodeon, where I worked on a show called Summer Slime Live, and learned that Sponge Bob could be pretty funny at times. That was also the first and last summer I drank Yoo-Hoo every other day in craft services, yuck.
