Amon Focus’s Summary
As a native of South Jamaica Queens, New York, Amon Focus is comfortably poised among today's diverse and eclectic art community. Valuing the importance of both academic and pragmatic knowledge, Amon's formal education includes Communication/Media Arts studies, a Bachelor's degree in Radio, Film and Television from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Digital Media degree from the highly acclaimed Full Sail Real World Education college in Orlando, Florida.
Amon's love of humor and hearty laughs drove him to pursue a position working with funnyman, Cedric The Entertainer, on his DVD project entitled Starting Line-Up. His great work and enthusiasm paid off when, just a short time later, he was courted by the popular children's network, Nickelodeon for a position with the notoriously messy Summer Slime Live program. Most recently, Amon's unique artistic manifestations can be observed every day on MTV2's nationally televised show, Monster Mix. His attention to detail and the quality of his work, showcased on Monster Mix, attracted many music labels to specifically commission him to do video remix work for artists such as The Killers, Rihanna, Armand Van Helden, Ciara, Simply Red, and numerous other chart-topping acts. As a video team member of Promo Only – a music promotion powerhouse - he was relied upon to create new and imaginative ways to produce motion graphic elements for the popular show.
Amon lives by the classic mantra, "Each one, teach one." His passion for reaching out to people who are in the beginning stages of realizing their dreams explains, in small part, why he is so well-received by both colleagues and students. Whether his words are manifested in a lively motivational speech or through thought-provoking spoken word poetry, Amon remains deeply committed to connecting with like-minded individuals who seek knowledge and personal growth.
