Examining circum/interplanetary dust charging and dynamics, and the origin of water on the terrestrial planets.
Goals: To learn about humans' origins by using dust as pseudo-photons, that is, by following their trajectories in the solar system incorporating forces and the plasma environment. The second goal in my work: the origin of water on Earth, is one of the largest enigmas in planetary sciences. If we don't know well how Earth got its water, how can we know what to look for on other planets? My popular science articles help young and old learn about the wonders of the universe (which I think is a wonderful place, as well).
Another, different goal: To introduce newcomers to the field of wavelets via my web site, demonstrations and lectures.
Technical strengths include: cosmic dust charging and dynamics, the origin of water on the terrestrial planets, astronomy instruction, infrared and ultraviolet data acquisition, introductory wavelet seminars, computational physics, popular science writing, numerical analysis, technical writing, statistics.
