What it says on the tin. :) Responsible for planning Business Reference services for the library including programming for the public, training for staff and the public on business & investment sources, and assist with selection of materials and maintenance of business reference collection. Also work in the Phone Center and at the Reference Desk in the Main Library.

Entry-level librarian position in busy public library branch. Generally worked adult reference desk but with a little experience with Children's and Circulation departments. Responsible for YA Summer Reading Program and maintaining YA fiction and graphic novel collection at the branch. Created Access databases of CDs as a finding aid for patrons, taught Internet Basics class, maintained yearly income tax form display. Assisted with packing and reopening tasks when the branch was closed for renovation in 2006. Temporarily assigned to Reference department at another branch library during the closure.

Permanent part-time position in a busy branch library which allows the employee to gain practical experience at a public library Reference Desk while attending an accredited MLIS degree program. A condition of the job is to successfully complete 18 credit hours toward the MLIS within 3 years of the date of hire. Specific duties included working the Reference Desk, maintaining a local history Vertical file and a general subject Pamphlet file, creating displays, and designing an MS-Access database of feature films added to the branch's collection, etc.
