Allison Luthe is a community activist with a wide range of experience in the non-profit and community based arenas. Her career began as an intern, serving as a voice for abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system. After obtaining her Master's Degree in Social Work, Allison has worked on a variety of projects assisting low-income working families, including financial asset building, budgeting, homeownership, emergency assistance, and employment for ex-offenders.
Her passion lies with grass-roots community building to tackle social justice issues. By organizing others, information is shared, alliances are formed and power to make change is obtained.
Allison has worked extensively with neighborhood associations, disenfranchised individuals and groups, and community-based organizations. She used this experience to model her non-profit consulting services to help obtain collaboration, efficiency and effectiveness. She is proud to share this experience with social work students from the IU School of Social Work through their practica placement, to see a unique community-based side of social work practice.
Allison is currently the lead Community Organizer at Central Indiana Jobs with Justice. www.centralindianajwj.org
