Saw my 1st computer in the early 80's and fell in love with it (was an Apple computer). Got to play with my 1st computer in '85 (as a nerdy 12 year old) when my dad purchased a Vic 20. That didn't last too long before we picked up an original IBM 8086 PC - dual floppies! CGA! Big honking monitor! What a blast playing Pole Position and learning how to program in BASIC.
Fast forward to HS and I started programming on the good ol' Apple IIe. Great system. Then I hit AP Computer Science and Turbo Pascal (and I still have all my floppies and program printouts!)
During college I took some basic computer classes (was an Art and Business major) on mostly Mac and Mainframe systems. Didn't get back into PC's until out of college when I built my 1st AMD K5 system just to play Quake and learn how to program HTML.
Been doing IT since then - Solaris, Linux, Novell, Netbackup, LAMP, Exchange, Windows 9X and beyond, Cisco, Linksys, WAP, etc. If it's tech related then there's a good chance I'd enjoy learning about it.
I have experience in E-commerce, web development, operations management, purchasing, technical support, sales, and a lot of other things (you tend to do a lot when running a small business).
Just recently started to teach myself some C# so that one day I can fulfill my dream of programming again (if only for keeping my brain sharp) and maybe even start a software company.
Now I'm working as a Sales Consultant for FGP Technology and I get to network with great people and companies to help them find that perfect person to help them succeed and grow profitably.
