Information Technology (IT) has enabled tremendous change and economic benefits in numerous industries. As a Program Manager in Healthcare IT, I find myself in the midst of one of the largest change opportunities in the US. As the US health care sector grapples with how to achieve the promised benefits of IT, I feel priviliged to have had the opportunity to contribute to this change whether by implementing modern Electronic Medical Records (EMR), planning for a regional health information exchange (HIE), developing a strategy for personal health records (PHR), or establishing privacy guidelines for health data.
