Anti-Spam, Email Best Practice and Deliverability Expert
Greater Chicago Area
Stopping spam is in my blood. Overseeing legal and best practice compliance in the realm of email, too. I've consulted directly with clients to address deliverability issues, worked with internet service providers and blacklist groups to learn what clients have done wrong (and put them back on the path to success) and terminated service to spammers when it became clear that a certain client is simply beyond reform. I'm active in multiple industry circles, and I spend a lot of my free time answering email-related questions posed to me by friends, industry colleagues, and readers of my Spam Resource blog.
I'm pretty good at managing people, if I do say so myself. I'm even better at managing databases and developing my own tools. I'm just as comfortable creating SQL and/or web-based applications to track blacklistings or client issues as I am developing a presentation to share with hundreds of marketers on why reputation matters and how to do the right thing. I've done both, often and successfully.
I've also done a lot of other random and fun stuff, including print design, jazz record production, web design, blacklist creation, and too many other things to list.

I manage ET's compliance efforts day-to-day and also managed the deliverability services/ISP relationship team. This included active, direct engagement with clients to address issues relating to all aspects of email deliverability. From investigating and sanctioning non-compliant clients to providing best practice guidance and consultation to clients who wish to do the right thing. I also worked with internet service providers, blacklist groups, and other industry organizations to address client issues. I maintained an active involvement in various industry groups, including MAAWG. I also utilized my significant development and unix expertise to develop my own tools and applications relating to deliverability measurement, reputation, authentication, blacklisting, etc.

Spam Resource is my own personal publishing platform for issues relating to email, spam and abuse prevention, list management and deliverability. I get a lot of questions via email and I use them to spur ideas for future blog articles.
