Alex Linebrink's Summary

Hi - I'm Alex.

I currently serve as CEO at Core Detroit / Core Merchant - a financial and business services technology company in the Quicken Loans / Rock family of companies which I co-founded in Detroit, MI in July 2010. In addition to a strong business leadership training at Bizdom U, I've served in leadership positions with 20+ organizations, spent 7 years heading up a design and marketing firm, and I have a diverse educational background ranging from philosophy to electrical engineering. With a strong skill-set in design, marketing, and communications, I have a unique combination of abilities to spot trends, develop strategy, and communicate vision - and I love to use it.

As an entrepreneur, I plan to continually bring new and innovative ideas from dream to reality by building teams, communicating vision, and leading both to their fullest potential.

Specialties: Leadership, communications, speaking, organizational strategy, vision, design, and a pretty intense hobby of staying up-to-date on the latest in connected technologies and social media.

Core Detroit

Public Company; 1-10 employees; Marketing and Advertising industry

July 2010Present (4 years 3 months) Detroit, MI

At Core Detroit, we help small businesses solve problems.

From accepting payments in the safest, simplest, and most affordable ways possible (Core Merchant), to helping businesses attain honest customer feedback (Core Feedback), to helping drive people through the door (Core Promotions): we have a suite of solutions to simplify the life of small business owners. Even if there's a solution we don't directly service, we have a collection of local vetted referrals to help accomplish any task, and keep business (and money) local.

Core Detroit is the evolution of Core Merchant (see Core Merchant entry).

The credit and debit card payment processing industry is broken - it's filled with dishonest hidden fees, excessive margins, and intentionally confusing equipment and statements.

We're here to fix things. No more hidden fees, pricing and margins that make sense (saving merchants a ton of money), and solutions that just work - where and when you need them.

Core Merchant: Payment solutions that make sense.
