Alef Arendsen’s Summary
Currently starting up an initiative in the automative sector, I have set up two successful companies in the past decade.
I was one of the driving forces behind Spring, a technology used by many Fortune1000 companies to build mission-critical enterprise systems. I co-founded SpringSource in 2004. SpringSource is the company sustaining the development of the Spring technology stack and delivers services around these technologies. SpringSource was acquired by VMWare (VMW) in September 2009 in a deal worth $420mln.
In 2002, I started JTeam, a company currently employing 25 talented Java developers and delivering services to many company in the Dutch market. I serve as a part-time advisor to the company and remain a shareholder.
Currently, I am working on an initiative in the automotive sector. Our ambition is to accelarate the introduction of electric vehicles in the Dutch market by 2 years.
In my free time, I travel a lot, spend my time in the mountains in Italy or out at sea on my kiteboard.

At Remotion, we're accelerating the introduction of electric vehicles in the Dutch market. Together with TNT, Eneco, the government and others we're putting more than 3.000 electric cars on the market in the next 3 years.
Also, we're have a full-service offering for everybody that wants to drive an electric car. Ranging from the installing of charging infrastructure to financing, insurance and replacement cars for long distances, we're doing everything you need to make you drive an electric car. -
