I was born in a small town near Brescia (Italy) in 1981.
I have a background in Humanities (Foreign Languages and Literature). However over the past years I have been captivated by multimedia and web-related issues, primarily web design and development. After a first approach to graphics (mainly Flash), I focused my research on subjects such as web standards, usability and accessibility.
I graduated at the University of Bergamo with a thesis about open source software and podcasting; in order to set up Pluriversiradio (an academic podcasting service by professor Marco Lazzari), I developed a free software (http://podcastgen.sourceforge.net) which has been adopted by several organizations and universities worldwide. In 2007 I obtained some research funds to conduct further investigation on podcasting as an e-learning facility.
I have been working since 2000 on web projects for educational institutions, non-profit organizations and public administrations, such as the Energy Department of the Politecnico di Milano, the Italian environmental association Legambiente and the Provincia di Cremona. I worked as a teacher in secondary schools and as a university lecturer.
I'm currently collaborating with the Department of Human Sciences at the University of Bergamo .
I treasure traveling, meeting new people, discovering languages and cultures.
I play the saxophone on the side, and I have a taste for juggling! Before moving to Barcelona (Spain), where I'm doing a master's in Cognitive Systems and Interactive Media, I had been playing for some time with a band.
Recently my interests have extended to Human Computer Interaction (HCI); I'm intrigued by tangible user interfaces and softwares that process human actions in real-time. I'm particularly fascinated by the use of these technologies in fields such as rehabilitation and art, in order to create music or set up interactive installations.
