Alan has over 18 years in selling and delivering professional services in finance, marketing and corporate strategy, organizational restructuring, value-based management, business process design, change management and executive facilitation. Alan was recently a Senior Manager in the Strategy & Operations Consulting practice of Deloitte in Toronto with a focus on Finance & Performance Management. His broad industry experience includes energy & resources, consumer business, financial services, technology and transportation.
As the practice lead for Deloitte’s Business Performance Management service offering, Alan specialized in designing and implementing corporate strategic planning, financial budgeting, forecasting and data analytics solutions. Alan led significant business performance management projects which included design and hands-on implementation of performance management processes, performance measurement scorecards, technology solutions and organizational design as part of finance function transformations.
Prior to Deloitte, Alan was a Principal Consultant in the Strategic Change practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). He led the Value-Based Management Centre of Excellence, managed PwC’s Financial Management Benchmarking and Best Practices studies and led the e-Business practice. He practiced for several years with the organizational change group and honed his change management expertise. Alan helped establish PwC’s Global Knowledge Center, was a certified learning facilitator, and trained management consultants across North America on consulting methodology.
Alan also founded his own management consultancy, advising organizations both small and large on marketing strategy, innovation management and business planning and was Executive in Residence advisor to the University of Toronto Exceler@tor (pre-MaRS) technology incubator.
