His career has spanned over 25 years as a highly recognized leader in both the nonprofit management and technology fields, with an emphasis on technology applications for business and government.
Before coming to PTI as its fourth executive director/CEO in 37 years, Dr. Shark served as president and CEO of the American Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA), executive director of the Rural Broadband Coalition (RBC) and president and CEO of the Power Line Communications Association (PLCA). He also founded the International Wireless Telecommunications Association (IWTA) and was publisher and associate executive director for Marketing and Communications for the Water Environment Federation.
Dr. Shark was elected as Fellow to the National Academy for Public Administration, and Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives, and Fellow of the Radio Club of America.
Dr. Shark is a noted writer and speaker on issues of technology, leadership, strategic planning and association management. He has been widely quoted over the years in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and in thousands of independent newspapers and trade publications.
