Managed area operations and turnaround maintenance at a premiere petroleum refinery. In Maintenance, led a team that overhauled refinery units, with annual budgets of $25 - 45 million and daily late penalties of up to $750,000. In Operations, managed the receipts, inventory, product blending, and shipments for the 240,000 barrel-per-day refinery. Led salaried specialists and shift foreman, who in turn supervised the hourly operators. Managed 65 people and a $50 million annual budget that employed $300 million in fixed assets to store and handle $1.5 billion in products each year.

• Reduced capital expenditures by creating the operating department’s first strategic plan.
• Reduced labor costs by reorganizing the operations workforce.
• Improved operations by doubling training compliance and empowering operators to monitor and improve areas of responsibility.
• Completed two major maintenance turnarounds, on-time and under the $40 million budget.
